Songwriter Stage – DO IT!

Posted on April 20, 2011

NASHVILLE, TN – The success of Songwriter Stage is quickly catapulting their venues into the list of “must do’s” for songwriters not only in the Nashville area, but international songwriters who have begun performing on their roster of auditioned talent as well.

Much like the famous Bluebird Café, Songwriter Stage performers are invited to play only after submitting their material for review. Songwriters seeking to perform apply online and submit their material either online or by sending in CD’s for review. This process ensures that the Songwriter Stage is an event filled with quality songwriters who can entertain at their various hosting venues; currently, Bost Harley-Davidson , the first Saturday of every month from 10:00AM-2:00PM, and every Wednesday at The Farm House Restaurant at The Fontanel from 6:00-8:00PM.

Songwriter nights are vastly available in Nashville; however, one enticement offers is that they video-tape each performance, so that performers will have access to online video links of their performances, which songwriters like to use to try and help market their material or performances elsewhere.

Serving as the host of Songwriter Stage, since its inception, on behalf of, I’ve found these events to be a lot of fun and well worth my time. I have been in Nashville since 1997 and have played various songwriter stages in Nashville myself, and I must say that really makes the songwriters welcome, and the networking capabilities of these quality songwriters has proven to promote some really great collaborations. Aside from the songwriter perspective though, these events are free and open to the public, offering attendees quality entertainment and a glimpse of quite a variety of upcoming songwriter successes.

Songwriters living or visiting the Nashville area really must try to make one of these events. And, as a side note, the Songwriter Stage at Bost Harley-Davidson is one of few songwriter venues where songwriters can play during daytime hours, which often does not conflict with other regular weekend gigs they may have already planned.

So, let me invite you to check out a Songwriter Stage soon!
